It’s the chronicle of a worried young man, Robert (Paddy Considine), who leaves the urban life and his ex-wife for the harmony of a rural life. He finds interval from his troubles by secretly watching the ordinary family life of a woman he doesn’t know through her kitchen pane. However when Jenny (Julia Stiles) catches Robert in act, she doesn’t call the police force. As an alternative she feels a strange compassion for Robert and invites him into her residence. Robert is drawn into a connection with Jenny, which has terrible cost when her boyfriend Greg finds out. Instantly doubtful of Robert, Greg makes it his duty to tear him down. However when a fight leaves Greg down for the count and missing, Robert discovers he is the number one suspect in a murder case that is at a snail's pace beginning to look like the final set-up.
